  • 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted
  • 4 black tea bags
  • ½ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 4 cups filtered water
  • 56 fresh mint leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil 4 cups of water in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat and steep 4 black tea bags for 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in ½ cup sugar until dissolved. Let cool at room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled.
  3. Wash and pit 1 cup of cherries. Slice them in half for more flavor release.
  4. In a large pitcher, muddle the cherries with mint leaves until juicy.
  5. Pour the chilled sweetened tea over the muddled cherry mixture and stir gently.
  6. Serve over ice, garnished with whole cherries or mint leaves.
