- 9 lasagna noodles (no-boil)
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion (chopped)
- 3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 28 oz crushed tomatoes (canned)
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with olive oil.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté chopped onions until translucent (about 5 minutes). Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Add ground beef to the skillet; cook until browned. Drain excess fat, then stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese with a pinch of salt and pepper until creamy.
- Start layering: spread some meat sauce at the bottom of the dish, add noodles, followed by ricotta mixture and mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, then bake another 15 minutes until golden brown.
