  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Boil the pasta in salted water until al dente; drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Gradually stir in milk while whisking until combined.
  3. Add garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Reduce heat to low and mix in cottage cheese until smooth.
  4. Stir in cheddar until fully melted. Combine the pasta with the cheese sauce.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
  6. For added crunch, mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle on top before baking for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
