- 1 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp pepper
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 gallon cold water (for brining)
- ½ cup brown sugar (for brining)
Instructions
- Prepare the brine: In a large pot, combine cold water, brown sugar, and salt until dissolved. Cool completely.
- Brine the turkey: Submerge the turkey in the cooled brine for at least 12 hours (overnight if desired).
- Preheat smoker: Set your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
