- 1/4 cup crushed candy canes
Instructions

- In a large bowl, cream together unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time; mix in peppermint extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and half of the crushed candy canes.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them two inches apart. Top with remaining crushed candy canes.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
