  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Boil or steam sweet potatoes until fork-tender, about 20 minutes. Allow them to cool, then peel and mash until smooth.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the mashed sweet potatoes with almond butter, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Sift in cocoa powder and baking soda, gently folding until just combined. Avoid overmixing for fudginess.
  5. If desired, fold in dark chocolate chips before pouring the batter into the prepared pan.
