Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk (warm)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (divided)
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, 1/4 cup sugar, and yeast. Let sit until foamy.
  2. Stir in melted butter and eggs; gradually add flour to form a slightly sticky dough.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for about an hour until doubled.
  4. Mix chopped strawberries with remaining sugar and cornstarch to create the filling.
  5. Roll out dough into a rectangle, spread strawberry mixture evenly, and roll tightly into a log.
  6. Slice into rolls and place in a greased baking dish. Let rise again while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Drizzle with icing if desired before serving.
