Description

Turkey Apple Sausage Rolls are a delectable twist on classic sausage rolls, uniting lean ground turkey and sweet Granny Smith apples in flaky puff pastry.   • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 cup Granny Smith apples, diced (about 2 medium apples)
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 tsp dried sage
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together ground turkey, chopped onions, diced apples, thyme, sage, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into rectangles (4 inches wide).
  4. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the turkey mixture onto one end of each pastry rectangle. Fold over edges and roll tightly to seal.
  5. Place seam-side down on the baking sheet. Brush each roll with beaten egg.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
